Aston Villa And Tottenham Hotspur In ‘Head-to-head Battle’ For Star | OneFootball

Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are involved in a ‘head-to-head battle’ for Chelsea’s in-demand striker Nicolas Jackson.

The Villans are undergoing a major squad rejig following arguably their best season last year under Unai Emery.

They have already lost the likes of Youri Tielemans, Ezri Konsa and Morgan Rogers, while Ollie Watkins is also inching towards the exit door; Johan Manzambi, Zion Suzuki, Matteo Ruggeri and Joao Gomes have beefed up the squad with their respective arrivals.

England forward Watkins was not a part of their opening-day disaster result against Brighton, as Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal want him.

Spurs also suffered a big 3-0 loss on their first game of the campaign, as fellow London club Brentford dismantled them at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Roberto De Zerbi wants a quality striker and Chelsea’s Senegalese frontman Jackson looks to be firmly on the radar for Tottenham.

The Villans are keen on the 25-year-old, who will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge for the right price.

Spanish side Atletico Madrid also targeted Jackson, but they pulled out of the race due due to a loan not being acceptable for Chelsea.

Nothing concrete has taken place yet for the Blues star, but Tottenham and Villa are battling for the for the 25-year-old, according to Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale.

Spurs, though, are currently pushing to complete a double deal to secure Manchester City attacking duo Savinho and Omar Marmoush.

The north Londoners are confident that they will be able to complete a deal for the Egyptian forward by next week.

Spurs, though, alongside the Villans, are staying vigilant in their chase for Jackson, who has 34 goal contributions in 65 Premier League games, with his current contract running for seven more years at Stamford Bridge.

The interested parties, though, will need to hurry if they want to agree on any deal for the Senegalese with Chelsea, as time is running out in the ongoing window.
