Aston Villa have officially announced the signing of Tammy Abraham from Besiktas in a deal worth €21 million, with Yasin Ozcan also going the other way.

Abraham has penned a four-and-a-half-year contract as he reunites with the club where he enjoyed a prolific loan spell during the 2018/19 season, scoring 26 goals and firing Villa to promotion via the Championship play-offs.

Besiktas first activated their €13m obligation to buy the striker from AS Roma before agreeing to his sale to Villa at a substantial profit.

The Turkish side benefited from his impressive form this season, with the forward netting 13 goals in 26 appearances to rebuild momentum after an anterior cruciate ligament injury and a mixed stint on loan at AC Milan.

For Villa, Abraham’s arrival adds proven firepower and valuable depth to a squad balancing domestic ambitions with European commitments.

The striker will provide cover for Ollie Watkins, offering a physical presence and clever penalty-box movement.

Joining Alysson and Brian Madjo, Abraham is Villa’s third acquisition of the ongoing winter window.

However, Unai Emery’s side are still expected to conduct further business as they close in on bringing another former player back in Douglas Luiz.

Villa’s desire to re-sign Luiz is fueled by injuries to Boubacar Kamara and Youri Tielemans, leaving the West Midlands outfit light on midfield options.

Ineligible for his side’s Europa League group-stage finale against RB Salzburg on Thursday, Abraham will be poised to make his second Villa debut in Sunday’s Premier League clash against Brentford.
