Club captain John McGinn will extend his stay with Aston Villa after penning a new deal until 2027.
The Scotsman has been with Aston Villa since 2018 when he joined the club from Hibernian. The midfielder was named team captain by former manager Steven Gerrard and has played 299 games in all competitions for the Villans, scoring 33 goals and providing 39 assists.

McGinn continues to be important for Villa, featuring in all 14 games this season, chipping in with three goals and one assist.
The 31-year-old will be hoping to add to those numbers on Thursday evening when Unai Emery's side host Maccabi Tel Aviv.
