Aston Villa have conceded their first goal in the Champions League this season in the strangest of circumstances.
The Premier League outfit have impressed so far, with wins over Young Boys, Bayern Munich and Bologna without having let in a single goal.
Yet this evening, goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez took a short goal kick, which Tyrone Mings – on his Champions League debut – inexplicably picked up and placed back on the spot.
He argued that the ball was not live, but there was no doubt in the referee's mind that this was a penalty.
Can Villa bounce back despite this bizarre setback?
