Aston Villa have confirmed the departure of versatile defender Calum Chambers.
Chambers arrived at Villa Park in January 2022 following an eight-year spell with Premier League counterparts Arsenal.
But the 29-year-old has taken the decision to leave Unai Emery’s side after just eight appearances in all competition last season.
“Aston Villa would like to wish Calum Chambers all the best as he leaves the club,” confirmed a club statement.
“He signed from Arsenal in January 2022 and went on to appear 36 times in claret and blue, scoring once.
“Keen to play more first team football at this stage of his career, Calum departs with the best wishes of everyone at the football club.”
In total, Chambers made 36 appearances for the Villans.
