Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are keen on acquiring the services of Barcelona utility man Ferran Torres.

While the Spanish international remains an integral part of Barcelona’s first team setup, his future has become an interesting talking point. With him set to enter the final year of his deal, the Catalan club could look to cash in on him, amidst interest from Aston Villa.

Aston Villa are plotting a raid on Barcelona for Ferran Torres

According to a report from Fichajes, Unai Emery’s team are looking to add more firepower to their ranks and consider Barcelona’s Ferran Torres just the perfect fit for their setup. They are gearing up to make a €65 million offer for the Spanish international.

Torres, who has been with the Catalan club since the start of 2022, is an important member of Hansi Flick’s squad, but he is not a regular starter, and a move away could help him play a more prominent role.

While he has only racked up 2,504 minutes of first-team action in his 46 appearances, the 26-year-old has 20 goals and two assists. He prefers playing down the middle, but is capable enough to take up any role in the final third.

Torres has played in England with Manchester City, and he won the Premier League title with them in 2020/21.

Barcelona will only sell Torres on their terms

Given his importance in their setup, Barcelona are in no rush to make a decision regarding his future. They will sanction his departure only if the move actually improves their squad by raising enough funds and making room for potential signings.

Apart from Aston Villa, there is also interest from AC Milan, and the Italian club are proposing a loan with a buy obligation and a significant percentage of future sales. Their offer seems more appealing to both the Spanish club and the player, even though Villa are ready to break the bank for him.
