Aston Villa are interested in bringing Cruzeiro centre-forward Kaio Jorge to Villa Park this winter (h/t ESPN Brazil).
He currently tops the Brasileiro Serie A scoring chart with 17 goals and six assists. Jorge has earned a first call-up to the Brazilian national team for his performances.
The Birmingham-based club could use more firepower, and Kaio fits the bill. He is a fast, clinical, and rangy striker who can deputise for and eventually replace Ollie Watkins.
After struggling following an incredulously early adventure in Europe with Juventus, Kaio returned to his native Brazil, where he has rebuilt his reputation.
Kaio has bagged 22 goals and seven assists in 40 appearances this term, and a return to Europe could be on the horizon.
Villa are in for Gremio striker Alysson. The 19-year-old just broke into the first team and is one for the future.
A move for Kaio would make plenty of sense for Villa. He is explosive in transition, clever in his movement and fearless in front of goal.
He’s willing to take on shots from all angles, which keeps defenders guessing and opens up space for others.
Beyond his finishing instincts, Kaio’s quick feet and sharp link-up play make him more than just a poacher.
For a Villa side looking to add variety and unpredictability in attack, Kaio offers precisely that.
He has matured since his first spell in Europe and now looks ready to make a genuine impact at the highest level.
Bringing him to Villa Park could give Unai Emery a new offensive dimension.
If Villa are serious about pushing for sustained success domestically and in Europe, Kaio might be the bold addition they need.
