Aston Villa will soon have the cash to get really serious about signing Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG after they make their major sale.

The transfer of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea, which is expected to be completed this week, is about to give a massive injection of momentum to this summer window.
The £117m which Villa will receive will be spent on replacing Rogers, and one prime candidate is Ibrahim Mbaye of PSG. These links were around before the Rogers move, but it seems that now the Premier League side will have the liquid cash on hand to get really serious about signing the teenager.
PSG are keen to keep Mbaye, but know they can’t necessarily offer him the first team minutes he wants. They’ve put a €50m price tag on the Senegal midfielder, and it seems like Villa may now be willing to pay.
The Athletic’s Deal Sheet claims that Jorge Mendes is “taking charge” of the potential move – which usually only means one thing. Mendes represents Mbaye but also works with Villa manager Unai Emery, which could help even more.
PSG have been linked with Yan Diomande all summer but don’t seem to have made much progress – pressure from Premier League rivals may change that.
Meanwhile, contradictory sources claim that the difficulties in signing Diomande have convinced PSG that they might be better off trying to sign Eli Junior Kroupi from Bournemouth.
