Aston Villa send second offer to Caen for Tidiam Gomis | OneFootball

According to a report from L’Équipe, Aston Villa have sent a second offer to SM Caen for Tidiam Gomis (18). A France international in the U19 age bracket, Gomis has become a clear target for the Premier League side this winter.

It appears increasingly unlikely that Gomis will see out the remaining months of his contract for the side owned by Kylian Mbappé. He has long been a target for other clubs who have become interested in his high ceiling for growth.

L’Équipe writes that Villa are confident that they will secure Gomis after increasing their opening offer. However, it is noted that they still face competition from RB Leipzig, as well as a French club that has not been disclosed, both of which have sent their own offer to Caen.

Gomis has featured heavily this season for the Ligue 2 side having appeared in all 18 league fixtures that the northern side have played. The teenager has also managed to register two goals and two assists.
