Aston Villa ‘to target’ Zion Suzuki after PSG end pursuit | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain have pulled out of a deal for Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.

According to RMC Sport, the double reigning European champions were close to a €35m agreement for the Japan international, who has 28 caps. They withdrew after the commissions requested by his agents kept rising, a level Luis Campos and the club hierarchy deemed excessive.

The collapse mirrors a similar case involving Ivorian Yan Diomandé, who eventually joined Real Madrid.

PSG still have depth in goal, with Matveï Safonov the current starter and Lucas Chevalier his back-up. The latter remains a long way from leaving.

Suzuki could now be targeted by Aston Villa, in the event of Emiliano Martinez’s probable departure.
