McGinn is undergoing further assessment to determine the severity of the injury he suffered against Everton.

Kamara, meanwhile, is expected to be out long-term with a knee injury, though Barkley is closing in on a return.

“Of course, we will need tomorrow, how the players played yesterday will be,” Emery said ahead of the game.

“Because, after one match, often the players, they are feeling a little bit tired or something even with being painful.

“And the players they weren’t yesterday, Kamara and McGinn, they are out of course.

“McGinn, update I don’t have, because he is visiting some doctors. We’ll know his assessment in a few days. Kamara is out, of course.

“Barkley is training individually, but close to being with the group, maybe next week.

“Those three players (Barkley, McGinn, Kamara), at the beginning, they are not available for Sunday.”

But Leon Bailey is back in contention after returning from his loan spell at Roma.

“Leon Bailey, he came back as well, thinking to help us quick,” Emery said.

“His adaptation is not necessary. He knows us and he is coming here fit. For Sunday, he is going to be available.”
