Sunderland resume their Premier League campaign at Villa Park on Sunday, visiting Aston Villa with both clubs weighing selection calls.

Unai Emery’s side are fourth and reached the Europa League last four this week. According to Sunderland Echo, both managers have significant decisions to make on fitness and selection.

Emiliano Martinez is available. He missed last weekend’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest with a minor injury, then returned for the Europa League second-leg win over Bologna on Thursday.

Tyrone Mings is also available, having rejoined the squad on Thursday after a minor injury.

Dan Ballard is available after returning to full training this week following a hamstring problem that kept him out of the last two games. Régis Le Bris will not rush him back, so he is likely to start on the bench.

Nilson Angulo is out. Sunday comes too soon, though he is making good progress and could be in contention to face Nottingham Forest next weekend, with the trip to Wolves probably a more realistic target.
