Aston Villa travel to London on Sunday looking to extend their remarkable winning run.
Unai Emery’s side have won eight consecutive games in all competitions. This form has propelled them into the title race. They currently sit just three points off the top of the table. The visitors have an excellent recent record against West Ham.
They are unbeaten in their last six meetings with the Hammers. Furthermore, they won this exact fixture last season. With Ollie Watkins in superb form, Villa will be confident of securing another three points to keep the pressure on the league leaders.
Unai Emery is facing a nervous wait over two key players. Goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez and defender Pau Torres both missed the midweek trip to Basel. The manager will make a late decision on their fitness. However, he is hopeful both can feature.
If Torres misses out, Ezri Konsa may shift into central defence. Matty Cash would then continue at right-back. Tyrone Mings and Ross Barkley remain sidelined with injuries. In attack, Ollie Watkins is set for a landmark appearance. This will be his 200th Premier League game. He will be supported by a midfield unit featuring Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana, who have been pivotal to Villa’s success.
Aston Villa predicted XI: Martínez; Cash, Konsa, Torres, Maatsen; Kamara, Onana; Buendía, Tielemans, McGinn; Watkins
