Asturian referee ‘being investigated’ over alleged assault on sex worker in Gijón | OneFootball

La Nueva España reports that an Asturian referee is being investigated over an alleged sexual assault on a sex worker in Gijón after allegedly posing as a police officer.

The official could be from the Segunda División, the tier that includes CD Castellón.

The man, believed to be aged between 30 and 40, was detained by the National Police about 15 days ago following a complaint from a woman of Latin American origin.

After giving a statement he was released with charges, and is subject to a 300 metre restraining order while a possible sexual assault offence is examined.

The complainant alleges he wore police insignia and threatened that she would face problems over her irregular status if she refused the sexual acts proposed. These claims remain subject to judicial verification as the investigation continues.
