A precocious breakthrough at Atalanta, Honest Ahanor continues his meteoric rise at an impressive pace. Signed last summer from Genoa for €17 million, the young Nigerian defender quickly established himself in the rotation, both in Serie A and the Champions League.
Born in Italy but eligible for Nigeria, Ahanor is far from a typical defender. His versatility, power, composure on the ball, and ability to push higher up the pitch make him a highly sought-after profile. According to Sky, Bayern Munich are closely monitoring his development, along with several Italian giants.
In Munich, the focus remains on internal matters, particularly extending Dayot Upamecano’s contract, but Ahanor’s name is certainly on the list. Atalanta, well aware they have a rough diamond on their hands, are unlikely to let their star go cheaply. It would take more than €30 million, possibly even €40 million, to consider such an early departure.
