The Blues once again failed to see out a game as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Clarets at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Joao Pedro gave Chelsea the lead in the fourth minute, but the Blues couldn’t add to their advantage, and conceded a stoppage time equaliser as Zian Flemming headed home from a corner.

Chelsea should have been out of sight at half time, with Cole Palmer guilty of missing a good opportunity, but once again the Blues appeared to get complacent.

The intensity both on and off the ball dropped, and life was made more difficult by Wesley Fofana getting sent off in the second half.

However, Chelsea almost saw the game out, but were once again let down by their defending from set pieces, as has so often been the case this season.

Rosenior hit out at Chelsea’s defending from set pieces, and the Blues have now lost 19 points from winning positions this season.

Only West Ham have lost more this campaign, and speaking after the game Cundy wasn’t sure the project was working.

“At the moment, you can’t say the project is working, but you can’t say it’s not either,” he told talkSPORT.

“Is it perfect? No. Has it got holes in? Yes, absolutely, it has.”

Owen Hargreaves calls for change in Chelsea recruitment

The Blues remain inside the top five, but it looks like Champions League qualification is once again going to go to the wire.

Chelsea have a tough March coming up, starting with back to back away games against Arsenal and Aston Villa.

They will need to improve defensively in those games, and Hargreaves believes poor recruitment, especially in defence is hindering Chelsea.

The Blues lack a real leader and experience at the back, but it’s something that can’t be addressed until the summer.
