Will Ademola Lookman leave Atalanta this summer or not? Frustrated, the player has taken aim at his club.

Ademola Lookman has now officially requested to leave Atalanta this summer. In a lengthy statement posted on his social media accounts this Sunday, August 3, the 2024 African Ballon d'Or winner expressed his affection for the club while making it clear he wants to embark on “a new adventure” after three seasons in Bergamo.

“Over the past three years at Atalanta, I’ve given everything. Not just as a footballer, but as a person. I’ve always worn the shirt with pride and tried to represent this club and the city of Bergamo with heart, passion and dedication,” he declared.

While insisting that he has always been loyal, Lookman explains that the situation has deteriorated in recent months. “Although I have received an offer that matches what I believe was discussed, the club is blocking the opportunity for reasons I do not understand. I want to say this to the fans, who are the heart of this club: I am truly sorry it has come to this. I hope you understand how incredibly difficult this situation is,” added the Nigerian international.

He concludes by saying he hopes to “find an amicable solution for all parties as soon as possible.” When will this standoff finally end?
