Atalanta are concerned after Italy international Giorgio Scalvini limped off with a knee injury during the Coppa Italia semi-final against Lazio.

The centre-back started and made key blocks before a collision with Lazio full-back Nuno Tavares. According to Football Italia, he was hurt in that challenge.

He received treatment and tried to play on, but was still struggling. After a few minutes, a decision was taken with the medical staff for him to come off.

The setback arrives with Atalanta facing a packed schedule as the only Italian team remaining in the Champions League. They are preparing for next Tuesday’s Round of 16 meeting with Bayern Munich.

La Dea are already without Ederson, Giacomo Raspadori and Charles De Ketelaere due to injury problems.

Scalvini, 22, previously tore an anterior cruciate ligament, which ruled him out of Italy’s EURO 2024 campaign. He then dislocated a shoulder in December 2024 and was sidelined for several months.
