Atalanta confirm De Ketelaere and Ahanor sidelined with adductor strains | OneFootball

Atalanta will be without Charles De Ketelaere and Honest Ahanor for Friday’s friendly against Athletic Club after both sustained muscular injuries. The pair limped out of Wednesday’s training in Bergamo and underwent tests today.

The club said in a statement that De Ketelaere has a left adductor strain, while defender Ahanor has an adductor issue in his right leg.

Both problems are low grade, with no significant damage. They will rest and be evaluated over the next few days.

The pair are ruled out of Atalanta’s final pre-season encounter with Athletic Club at the New Balance Arena, the 27th edition of the Trofeo Bortolotti.

Atalanta begin with a Conference League play-off against Hapoel Tel-Aviv on 20 August, host Sassuolo in Serie A on 23 August, then play the second leg on 27 August.
