Atalanta confirm Elmas loan from RB Leipzig with option to buy

Atalanta have confirmed Elmas is returning to Serie A from RB Leipzig in a surprise move.

The club said in a statement on Saturday that the North Macedonia international arrives on an initial loan with an option to buy, with the fee undisclosed.

Elmas reunites with Atalanta director Cristiano Giuntoli, having previously worked together at Napoli, and will play under Maurizio Sarri for the first time in his career.

He has 19 goals and 13 assists in 189 Serie A appearances with Napoli and Torino.

He spent six years at Napoli, first from 2019 to 2024, then returned on loan in the 2025-26 campaign.

During his time with the Partenopei, he won one Coppa Italia, one Scudetto and one Supercoppa Italiana.
