Atalanta said in a statement that they have parted company with Raffaele Palladino after 39 matches, thanking him and his staff, and paving the way for the expected appointment of Maurizio Sarri as head coach.
Palladino was appointed on 11 November 2025 to replace the sacked Ivan Juric, signing a deal through to June 2027.
He inherited a side in the lower reaches of Serie A and lifted them to sixth, securing Conference League football for next season.
They also reached the Champions League Round of 16 before losing to Bayern Munich, and went out of the Coppa Italia in the semi-finals on penalties to Lazio.
It was a solid rescue job for a mid-season arrival, though the hierarchy prefer to pursue a new direction under Sarri.
Sarri’s official announcement is expected in the coming days once contractual formalities are completed.
