Despite appearing alongside manager Gian Piero Gasperini in the pre-match press conference earlier this week, Sead Kolasinac will not face his former club, Olympique de Marseille, in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League semi-final on Thursday evening.
Kolasinac, who left Marseille to join the Serie A side on a free transfer in the summer, picked up the injury in the first leg and has not sufficiently recovered. He joins Emil Holm and Rafael Toloi in missing the second leg for Atalanta, with the score tied at 1-1. Kolasinac will be replaced by Swedish defender Isak Hien, who missed the first leg through suspension after accumulating too many yellow cards. As was the case in the first leg at the Vélodrome, Gianluca Scamacca will start up front.
