Arsenal are among the Premier League clubs monitoring Atalanta’s Charles De Ketelaere, as coach Mikel Arteta is said to be a ‘big admirer’ of the Belgium international.
De Ketelaere is currently in his second season with the Nerazzurri shirt after the club opted to trigger the option to buy and make his move from Milan permanent last summer at the end of a campaign that saw the 23-year-old score 10 Serie A goals from 35 games.
The offensive midfielder’s convincing performances have drawn interest from several clubs, including Premier League powerhouses Arsenal, Manchester City, and Tottenham.
While none of the clubs interested in Charles De Ketelaere have officially approached Atalanta to open talks, CaughtOffside reported that Arsenal are considering whether to make a move for the player in the ‘near future’.
Manager Arteta would be one of the main promoters of the deal at the club, but the Gunners could face stiff competition to bring the midfielder to the Emirates Stadium, as Manchester City, Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham are also keeping an eye on the player.
De Ketelaere was signed by Milan in the summer of 2022 but struggled to make an impact in Serie A in his first season, persuading the Rossoneri to dispatch him to Atalanta, where his performances drastically improved.
The Belgium international has become one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s key players, and after selling Theun Koopmeiners to Juventus in the summer, chances are that Atalanta would do everything in their power to keep the player at the Gewiss Stadium.
