Atalanta are looking to hand head coach Palladino a new and improved contract despite this week’s 6-1 defeat by Bayern Munich.

According to TMW, the club plan to meet him soon to discuss an extension. Palladino took charge in November after Ivan Juric was dismissed, signing a deal through the end of 2026-27, and one option under consideration is to run it to summer 2029.

The club are pleased with his work so far. They beat Borussia Dortmund in a memorable Champions League tie in February and have hauled themselves back into contention for European qualification next season after an underwhelming start to the 2025-26 Serie A campaign.

They also remain in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, making them the only Italian side still competing on all three fronts, Serie A, the cup and the Champions League. Their round of 16 tie against Bayern appears all but settled.

Palladino was named Serie A coach of the month for February after wins over Cremonese, Lazio and Napoli. Any new agreement would underline the club’s belief that he is the right man to drive the project forward.
