According to Sky Sport Italia, Atalanta are stepping up negotiations with Kerim Alajbegovic’s entourage in the hope of convincing him before formal talks with his club, while Roma and Milan remain interested.

The Bayer Leverkusen talent turns 19 in September and is fresh from a standout season at RB Salzburg.

He moved there last summer for two million euros, and a buy-back clause set at eight million euros was activated on 1 July.

Alajbegovic scored 13 goals and supplied four assists in 44 competitive games, then struck decisive goals for Bosnia and Herzegovina in World Cup play-offs.

His form carried into the tournament, starting three of Bosnia’s four matches and netting a solo effort.

Primarily a left winger, he can also operate on the right or as a trequartista behind a striker.

Within Serie A, Milan, Roma and Napoli have shown interest, and Newcastle United, Sunderland and Real Betis are also monitoring the situation.
