Atalanta ultras agree that tomorrow’s Serie A game against Lecce should not be played and have announced a strike if it goes ahead.

Lecce are unwilling to play away at Atalanta tomorrow, just three days after the sudden death of their physiotherapist, Graziano Fiorita.

The game was meant to be played on Friday, but it was postponed after the death of the 47-year-old on Thursday.

“We stand close to Lecce, their fans and the Fiorita family,” Atalanta ultras wrote on Instagram via Calcioatalanta.

“Graziano Fiorita’s death once again highlights the lack of respect for a man, a father, a husband, and, above all, a professional in the twisted world of football. A world increasingly trapped and compressed by rules that demand a team and their supporters to set aside their grief and step onto the pitch.

“Our history does not allow it. If Atalanta-Lecce is played on Saturday, 27 April 2025, we will not hang banners, we won’t bring flags, and we won’t organise chants in Curva Sud. We will stand in silence, honouring the pain of Lecce and the Fiorita family.”
