Inter Milan travel to Bergamo as they face Atalanta on Sunday night in what will be their final match of the 2025 calendar year.
Cristian Chivu will look to keep momentum going, as Inter have won six out of their last seven league games to lead the league table.
Atalanta manager Raffaele Palladino faces a selection headache with several key absentees. Defenders Berat Djimsiti and Raoul Bellanova are unavailable through injury, leaving gaps in the backline that will likely see Marten de Roon continue in a deeper role or youngster Lorenzo Bernasconi handed a start.
Also sidelined is Mitchell Bakker due to a cruciate ligament injury and is not expected to return before March 2026. Odilon Kossounou and Ademola Lookman are both unavailable as they are on their national duty and playing for their country in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Inter Milan arrives in Bergamo with their own injury concerns. New signing Ange-Yoan Bonny, who joined from Parma in the summer, is ruled out with an injury, alongside veteran defender Francesco Acerbi and wing-back Denzel Dumfries.
Raffaele De Grennaro is still out with his broken hand and is expected to come back to the playing squad in January. Tomas Palacios is also out.
Manager Cristian Chivu is expected to deploy his strongest available XI to maintain their title charge. Manuel Akanji, a summer arrival from Manchester City, has settled well into the back three and should start.
Up front, the lethal partnership of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will continue, supported by a midfield trio likely to include Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella.
Raffaele Palladino’s is currently sitting 9th in the Serie A table with 22 points in 16 matches. Their recent form has been impressive winning six out of the last seven matches in all competitions. They recently won against Genoa (1-0).
Inter Milan have been in imperious form, sitting at the summit of Serie A with 33 points from 15 games.
Under Cristian Chivu, they have won 11 times this season, losing just four. Though they enter this clash on the back of a disappointing loss against Bologna in the Supercoppa where they lost 3-2 on penalties.
