Paris Saint-Germain traveled this Wednesday to face Athletic Bilbao (0-0 video highlights here) as part of the 6th matchday of the Champions League group stage. Speaking to PSG TV, João Neves, the 21-year-old Parisian midfielder, reflected on this draw.

Neves: “We have the next matches to do even better”

“We gave it our all, as always. I think we were missing a goal tonight. But that’s how it is, football is like that. We always have to learn and improve for the next match. We have the next matches to do even better, but it was a very tough game against a very defensive team that also attacks well. We had chances, but that goal was missing. The atmosphere? It was incredible, the coach had told us that.”

The Parisian performance was overall good even though they obviously missed that goal to leave with three important points. An away match is never easy in the Champions League, especially in Bilbao where the atmosphere is always memorable. Returning from their trip with only one point, the Parisians must not drop any points in the last two group stage matches. Securing a top 8 spot is essential, and for that, two victories seem necessary.
