Athletic Club have announced UEFA levied a €30,000 fine and imposed a ban on ticket sales for their next away match after violence in the Europa League game against Roma.

The incidents occurred during the 1-1 draw at the Stadio Olimpico on September 26.

A statement released by the Bilbao club this evening confirmed that UEFA had fined them €30,000 and put a block on the sale of tickets for their next away match in the Europa League.

There is also a suspended sentence of further bans on ticket sales, which will last for two years.

Among other incidents, flares were lit and thrown from the section of Athletic Club fans, along with other objects towards both the players on the pitch and the Roma supporters in the other sections.

The club has already released a statement condemning the actions of those responsible and now confirms it is taking legal action to pass on the fine to these individuals.
