Athletic Club star absent from squad for Sevilla clash | OneFootball

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga outfit Athletic Club remains absent from the club’s matchday setup this weekend.

The player in question? Oihan Sancet.

Attacking midfielder Sancet for his part set alarm bells sounding in Bilbao earlier this week.

As much came upon the 24-year-old – in the midst of a fine opening to the campaign – missing out on a place in Athletic’s squad to face AS Roma in the Europa League.

At the time, Sancet’s absence was attributed to an overload in his left hamstring.

And, evidently, the Spaniard, three days on, is yet to enjoy a sufficient recovery from his latest ailment.

This comes with Sancet having also been left out of Ernesto Valverde’s latest La Liga squad.

Athletic’s party for a meeting with Sevilla at San Mamés on Sunday evening was unveiled a short time ago, with Los Leones’ midfield standout nowhere to be seen:
