Athletic Club’s Ander Herrera swaps Bilbao for Buenos Aires | OneFootball

Ander Herrera has long been rumoured with moving on from Athletic Club, the team that shot him to stardom back in the early 2010s.

There were plenty of rumours back in the summer linking the 35-year-old with a return to boyhood club Real Zaragoza before Herrera decided to stay, but now a move has finally been made.

Ander Herrera is now a Boca Juniors player, with the club having made their official announcement of the move in the last hour.

The move cuts the midfielder’s second stint at Athletic Club short at just three seasons, and sees Herrera head across the Atlantic in search of a new adventure.

The Bilbao-based club also released a video showing Ander saying his goodbyes to his teammates, as he departs them for Argentinian soil.

It will be very interesting to see what Herrera can bring to his new club Boca Juniors, as they will be looking to improve upon their 6th-placed finish they achieved during their last campaign.
