Athletic confirm reserve and Basconia exits, Endika Buján and Jon de Luis among departures | OneFootball

Athletic have confirmed end of season departures across their reserve sides. The club said in a statement that five players are leaving the reserves and Basconia, with Endika Buján and Jon de Luis the standouts.

Also exiting the reserves are Xabier Irurita, Eric Gamen and Iker Aldai. Irurita completed two campaigns with 48 appearances. Gamen, who arrived at Lezama as a youth, played four times, while Aldai, on loan from SD Eibar, made 28 outings in his sole season.

Buján debuted for the first team against Girona on 8 February 2025, coming on late with the match at 3-0 in San Mamés. He grew up alongside Unai Gómez at Danok Bat, then moved to Lezama from Barakaldo in Segunda RFEF. He totalled 47 games across two seasons with the reserves.

Navarrese defender De Luis has 85 reserve matches over three seasons. He featured in first team friendlies and made several squads this term when centre backs were scarce, but did not debut in an official match.

From Basconia, midfielder Gaizka Alboniga-Menor departs after being at Lezama since alevín age. Defender David Osipov, who joined at youth level, also leaves, as does goalkeeper Iker Galindo, who has worked with the second team this year.

Loans end for Oier Gastesi of Arenas de Getxo and Javier Elías of SD Amorebieta, the former entering as a youth, the latter joining the reserves last year. Ander Fernández at SD Logroñés and Unai Garcés at SD Leioa also conclude their loans.
