Athletic returned to work at Lezama today after Saturday’s run-out in Burgos and five days off. Only 15 minutes were open to the public, with the session split between outdoor drills and medical tests.
As reported by as.com, Gerenabarrena, who went off at El Plantío as a precaution, trained normally outdoors alongside Santos, Paredes, Rincón, Rego, Galarreta, Berenguer, Djaló, Selton and Sannadi.
Vivian was the only absentee, sidelined by an insertional injury to the right adductor longus. Gorosabel appears over his recent issues and is among the players considered surplus, along with Agirrezabala and Vencedor, who are exploring exits.
The squad will work again tomorrow afternoon, then on Sunday face their first international test of the summer at the Vélodrome against Marseille. Terzic is expected to show his hand for the league with a recognisable starting XI.
Spain’s World Cup players are due to report next week. The dress rehearsal is scheduled for Friday 14 at 20:45, away to Atalanta in Bergamo.
