Athletico Paranaense beat Remo 2-1 on Sunday in Belém to halt a three-match winless streak and jump from fifth to fourth in the Brasileirão.

Jajá put Leão Azul ahead in the 14th minute, sweeping into the bottom right from the centre of the box.

Bruno Zapelli then had a goal overturned for handball after a VAR review (28.). Kevin Viveros levelled for Athletico-PR with a close-range finish (45.).

Jajá was sent off in the eighth minute of first half stoppage time after a review. After the restart, Jádson slid a through ball for Viveros, who slotted the winner (53.).

There was more late drama when Leozinho's effort was ruled out after a VAR check in the first minute of second half stoppage time.

Furacão carried the greater threat, tallying 16 attempts with nine on target. Marcelo Rangel kept Leão Azul in it with eight saves. Leão Azul mustered three attempts and held 43.8% possession.
