Atlanta has announced enhanced security for Wednesday’s World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina, reflecting the historic rivalry between the sides.

The match will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

The countries renew one of football’s most storied rivalries, 40 years after Diego Maradona’s Hand of God sent Argentina into the 1986 semi-finals at England’s expense.

That meeting came four years after the Falklands War, which left 649 dead on the Argentine side and 255 on the British side.
