La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have eaely this week been dealt something of a blow on the transfer front.
This comes amid confirmation that a leading member of the club’s summer transfer wishlist has, at the last, rejected the Rojiblancos.
The player in question? Enzo Millot.
The name of midfielder Millot has of course emerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital over the last couple of weeks.
This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Frenchman had been identified as something of a priority signing on the part of Diego Simeone and his staff.
Millot is for his part fresh off a stellar campaign with German outfit Stuttgart in 2024/25.
Until today, Atlético had been considered the widespread favourites to secure a deal for his signature, with some outlets having gone as far as to suggest that an agreement between the parties was all but imminent.
Safe to say, then, that those in the boardroom at the Metropolitano will no doubt be hugely disappointed with the latest word surrounding Millot’s future.
As per a report from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano:
‘Al Ahli agree deal to sign Enzo Millot from Stuttgart, here we go! Surprise move to hijack Atlético Madrid deal, despite Spurs links Millot will play for Al Ahli.’
