Atletico Madrid are reportedly making a move to sign Atalanta goalkeeper Juan Musso to compete with current no.1 Jan Oblak, according to reports from Spain.
Atleti are on the lookout for a new back-up goalkeeper after sending Horatiu Moldovan on loan to Sassuolo on Friday afternoon.
Diego Simeone also said in his recent pre-match press conference that he expects to welcome two new players, one being Clement Lenglet, and the other being a new goalkeeper.
According to reports from Marca, Musso is likely to be the Moldovan replacement in Madrid. The Argentine’s contract with Atalanta is due to expire at the end of the 2024-25 season, so he could be available at a cut-price.
Though Musso was chosen for Atalanta’s 4-0 win over Lecce on the opening game of the Serie A season, 24-year-old Marco Carnesecchi had claimed the starting spot in league matches towards the end of the 2023-24 campaign.
