Atlético Madrid mock Julian Alvarez to Barcelona rumours with playful Instagram post

Atlético Madrid have mocked rumours linking Julian Alvarez with Barcelona, using humour to swat away growing speculation.

In an Instagram post, the club said the spoof message took five minutes to make, warned that reality can be distorted, and urged fans not to believe everything they see, particularly when it concerns Barça.

Tired of talk around their Argentine forward after recent exits from the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, Atlético created fictitious transfer chatter about several Barcelona players, including Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Raphinha.

The Madrid club have already denied the existence of any agreement with Barcelona.

Under Diego Simeone, the point was to remind supporters that not every transfer line pushed during the window is necessarily true.
