A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid played no part in training on Tuesday.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Alexander Sørloth as the player in question.
Frontman Sørloth, for his part, is fresh off a match-winning performance over the weekend, which saw the summer arrival in Spain’s capital notch the only goal in a La Liga victory over Getafe.
This comes amid what has been a solid start to life for the Norwegian in the colours of Atlético.
Those of a Rojiblancos persuasion, in turn, may have been concerned to hear that Sørloth was not part of the group of players put through their paces by Diego Simeone on Tuesday.
This comes amid ongoing preparations for a top-of-the-table showdown with Barcelona this coming weekend.
The Atléti faithful, however, need not fret.
As confirmed by Mundo Deportivo:
‘The goalscorer against Getafe received a knock in the last match and the medical services preferred that he train on the sidelines as a precaution.’
Sørloth is expected to be passed fit to face Barcelona on Saturday night.
