Atlético Madrid unveil the club’s new no.10 | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have on Monday made official the latest player to have taken responsibility of the club’s no.10 jersey.

The player in question? Álex Baena.

Midfielder Baena is of course one of a whole host of fresh additions to Diego Simeone’s Atlético squad across the summer to date.

Following another standout season on the books of Villarreal, the Spanish international was snapped up in a big-money deal earlier this month.

Baena, in turn, was presented in front of the media in Madrid on Monday morning.

And as alluded to above, during as much, the 24-year-old’s Rojiblancos squad number was also made official.

Expected to play a central role in the first-choice XI at the Metropolitano moving forward, Baena’s importance has been recognised by way of the iconic no.10.

The versatile midfielder/winger has replaced Ángel Correa as Atléti’s 10, following the Argentine’s departure earlier this summer.
