Atletico Madrid will reportedly be without Marcos Llorente in Wednesday’s Champions League clash against Inter Milan.

According to FCInterNews, the Spaniard sustained a muscle injury during yesterday’s 1-0 win at Getafe.

Diego Simeone had to take the former Real Madrid star off after just 14 minutes.

Indeed, Antoine Griezmann took Llorente’s place, with the 30-year-old limping off the field in pain.

Llorente’s potential absence would further deplete Simeone’s injury-hit squad.

Llorente has been Simone’s first choice on the right wing this season, ahead of Nahuel Molina.

However, with the Spaniard on the sidelines, the former Udinese defender could return to the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, Llorente will not be the only notable absentee in the Madrid camp.

Indeed, starting goalkeeper Jan Oblak, Simeone’s son Giuliano, and Robin Le Normand are also unavailable.

Given Atletico’s growing injury list, Inter may have a perfect chance to bounce back from last night’s loss to AC Milan.

Furthermore, a potential win at the Metropolitano Stadium would all but seal Inter’s automatic last-16 qualification.
