Atlético Madrid are tracking New York Red Bulls striker Julian Hall after a record-setting 2026 in MLS. The 18-year-old has nine goals from 19 starts and is playing regularly.

According to La Colina De Nervion, Atlético have made an initial approach as RB Leipzig revive their monitoring, with Newcastle United and Hull City also keeping tabs. Hall continues to start for New York.

His surge began on 21 February, when he scored both goals in a 1-2 win at Orlando City. At 17 years 334 days, he became the youngest player in MLS history to net a brace in his club’s league opener.

The leap came on 13 May 2026 against Columbus Crew. Hall hit a 3-2 match-winning hat-trick for New York, scoring in minutes seven, 40 and 79, and at 18 years 50 days became the youngest to record a regular-season MLS hat-trick, surpassing Ricardo Pepi’s 18 years 196 days. That display earned his second MLS Player of the Matchday award of the campaign.

On 8 July 2026 the league commissioner named him in the MLS All-Star to face a Liga MX selection. At 18 years 106 days, he was the youngest All-Star call-up since Cade Cowell in 2021.

A New York Red Bulls academy graduate, Hall scored 28 goals in 39 matches across three seasons before stepping up. He made his MLS debut on 30 September 2023 against Chicago Fire at 15 years 190 days, the third youngest in league history. In June 2024 he struck his first league goal versus CF Montréal at 16 years 87 days, second youngest behind Freddy Adu.

Hall is contracted as a Homegrown Player until the end of 2026, with a club option for 2027. He is not a free agent, so any outcome will depend on New York’s position and whether performances keep arriving at this rate.
