Atlético Madrid inform Arsenal of Julián Alvarez asking price | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have set out a price for the signing of star striker Julián Alvarez heading into the final week of the summer transfer window.

This of course comes fresh off an evening to forget for the Argentine on Sunday. After Atlético kicked their La Liga campaign back into gear in a meeting with Villarreal, Alvarez was widely jeered and whistled by the home crowd inside the Metropolitano.

After the 26-year-old earlier this summer made public his intention to move on amid interest from Hansi Flick’s Barcelona, he has evidently not been forgiven by the Rojiblancos faithful.

With yesterday’s ugly scenes still fresh in mind, Atlético, in turn, have informed the one club whom they appear to be open to dealing with when it comes to a potential Alvarez sale of their demands for the striker.

As per a report from The Athletic:

‘Atletico Madrid would consider an offer worth around €150m for Julian Alvarez from Arsenal.’

Despite legitimate interest on the part of the Premier League champions in the Argentine’s signing, however, it is considered unlikely that Arsenal would be willing to meet such considerable demands.
