Bild reports that Patric Pfeiffer will take the next step in his career next season and play in the Bundesliga despite his contract with Darmstadt expiring in the summer.
The 23-year-old has received offers from Augsburg and Mainz over a contract and should come to a decision in the next two weeks. This decision is important to Pfeiffer as he wishes to play first-team football in the Bundesliga. The 23-year-old joined Darmstadt in 2019 from Hamburg for €250k
Pfeiffer has played 23 times for Darmstadt this season as they fight for promotion to the Bundesliga for the first time since 2017. The defender missed seven games at the beginning of the year due to injuries and has only recently found himself in the starting 11 again.
Darmstadt are currently first in the 2.Bundesliga, three points clear of second-placed Heidenheim. They are one win away from securing promotion with their next game away at Hannover 96.
