According to Patrick Berger, FC Augsburg are considering making an approach for Brentford midfielder Frank Onyeka.
It is understood that the Fuggerstädter are looking to reinforce their side before the end of the transfer window, and Onyeka is one of the players appreciated by those at the Augsburg Arena.
It is understood that Brentford have opened the door to allow the Nigerian international to depart, meaning that a deal depends on whether the two clubs can reach an agreement.
Onyeka’s current deal for the Premier League outfit is set to expire in 2027, but this is not expected to influence Brentford’s asking price significantly.
As stated in the report, talks between the two teams are advanced, but at this stage, no agreement has been made.
So far this season, the 26-year-old has been used as a late substitute in both of Brentford’s league games against Crystal Palace and Liverpool, with Thomas Frank not considering Onyeka as a pivotal player for the Bees this season.
