Foot Mercato reports that FC Augsburg are currently in advanced negotiations to sign Burnley FC midfielder Han-Noah Massengo. The former French U21 international could become the second Burnley professional to move to the Bundesliga in a single day. Earlier on Tuesday, FC St. Pauli confirmed the signing of Burnley striker Andréas Hountondji on loan from the Clarets.

Like Hountondji, Massengo spent the second half of last season on loan outside of England. Burnley sent the 24-year-old to AJ Auxerre in Ligue 1, where he made a total of 17 appearances. Massengo appears to have no prospects with the newly promoted Premier League side. Augsburg, meanwhile, are still seeking a solid replacement for returned Brentford loanee Frank Onyeka.

Germany’s Fuggerstädter are apparently so convinced of Massengo that they are willing to offer him a five-year contract. Massengo managed to increase his estimated market value from €3.5m to €5m during his short loan stint in his native country. Massengo brings with him the experience of three Premier League appearances during Burnley’s 2034/24 top flight campaign.
