Augsburg have signed Germany youth international Faik Sakar from RB Leipzig, with the 18-year-old set to arrive this summer on a contract running to the end of 2029-30.

According to BuLi News, he will complete a free transfer once his Leipzig deal expires at the end of the season.

Sakar made his Bundesliga debut at 16 under Marco Rose, a future Bournemouth coach. He has not featured for Leipzig’s first team in any competition this season.

He has represented Germany up to the U17 level, and remains eligible for Türkiye, France or Cameroon through family ties.

Sporting director Benni Weber said Sakar aligns with Augsburg’s sporting and strategic plan, praising his potential, and that a clear development pathway convinced him. Sakar added that Augsburg’s record with young players made this the right step for his development and that he is delighted to join this summer.
