, Augsburg have submitted an opening offer to Mainz for former German youth international goalkeeper Finn Dahmen (24).
Dahmen has one-year remaining on his current contract at Mainz but has already rejected an extension. M05 has already informed the German that they are planning with Robin Zentner as their No. 1.
This has resulted in interest from fellow Bundesliga side Augsburg. The interest appears to be mutual, Dahmen would be interested in joining Enrico Maaßen’s FCA, replacing 34-year-old Rafał Gikiewicz in the long-term.
Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing and Sky Germany add further that there’s an agreement between FCA and Dahmen for a contract until 2026 or 2027.
Since making his Bundesliga debut at 22 under Jan Siewert, Dahmen has played just five games across all competitions for Mainz. During his time with the German national team, Dahmen played eight times for Germany U21 under Stefan Kuntz, who now coaches Turkey.
