With the calendar paused for the World Cup, Palmeiras have a rare window to reset before an August that could shape their 2026 season.
According to Nosso Palestra, the club have eight fixtures confirmed for August, which could become nine if they progress to the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals. Recent Augusts have brought painful exits and results that coloured the run-in.
Up to five of those matches are knockouts, two in the Copa do Brasil round of 16, a potential quarter-final, and two in the Libertadores round of 16.
In little over a month, Palmeiras could determine their survival in two flagship competitions while still managing Campeonato Brasileiro duties.
The pause offers a strategic chance to sharpen fitness and structure. Fine details can prove decisive in knockouts, where a single mistake can mean elimination.
If they come through August strongly, Palmeiras will enter the final months with genuine hopes of chasing major trophies. If performances fall short, much of the season’s sporting plan could be jeopardised.
