Austria Star Admits Inter Milan ‘Made It Harder Than It Needed To Be’ In 3-2 Serie A Thriller Vs Monza | OneFootball

Marko Arnautovic feels that Inter Milan “made it harder than it needed to be” against Monza in yesterday’s dramatic Serie A comeback win.

The Austrian spoke to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInterNews, after the end of the 3-2 victory.

Inter Milan got the result they wanted against Monza yesterday evening.

The Nerazzurri ran out 3-2 winners. But that was only after a dramatic comeback.

Monza took a shock 0-2 win during the first half. Inter were caught cold by counterattacking goals from the likes of Samuele Birindelli and Keita Balde.

However, Marko Arnautovic pulled a goal back for Inter right before halftime.

Then, in the second half, Hakan Calhanoglu equalized for the Nerazzurri. An own goal by Brianzoli defender Giorgios Kyirakopoulos completed the comeback.

After the match, Inter Milan striker Marko Arnautovic admitted that “it wasn’t a difficult match, but we were the ones who made it harder than it needed to be.”

“It’s okay,” the 35-year-old added.

“They’re not a team to be underestimated. They have good players.”

“But we did our job,” Arnautovic went on. “We took shots, we created chances, and then we conceded twice on the counterattack.”

The Austrian admitted that “that made the situation difficult for us.”

“But we responded well in the second half,” he continued. “We’re happy with the win.”

“This is why we’re a great team,” Arnautovic continued. “Because we play a lot of matches between the Champions League, Serie A, and the Coppa Italia.”

“It’s not easy. But we try to do our best every day. In training, and in the matches.”

“Sometimes it ends up like this, other times it can end up differently,” Arnautovic then added. “But we always try to give our best on the pitch,”
